Privacy Policy

From merchants: Shopify store data needed to run the app (store domain, plan, product catalog), your store's active subscription and billing state, and the email address and name of anyone who connects their Shopify account to the Vibecheck dashboard.

From shoppers: photos uploaded as poses, the product images used to generate vibechecks, and the AI-generated vibecheck images themselves. When you create an account we record that you confirmed you meet our minimum age, and the date you confirmed it. We do not ask for or store your date of birth.

Derived from those images: automated checks produce technical measurements we store alongside each image — whether a person is present, how many, where in the frame they are, and which parts of the frame are clothing. These are used to crop images sensibly and to reject uploads that aren't usable (no person in a pose, no garment in a product photo). They are never shown to anyone, never used to identify you, and never used to decide what you are shown.

Pose photos and product images are used only to generate the requested vibecheck image and, where a shopper makes it public, to display that result on the storefront and the shopper's profile. Store data is used to run the app's core features (the Vibecheck button, feed, and merchant dashboard) and to calculate billing.

We measure how the app is used only in aggregate — daily totals of how often each section of the browse view was seen and tapped. These counts carry no account, device, or session identifier, so they cannot be traced back to any individual, and we do not build profiles of shoppers.

A dashboard user's email is used to sign them in and to send transactional emails about the store's Vibecheck account — installation, subscription activation, billing issues, usage-cap notices, and cancellation confirmations. We don't use it for marketing.

Generating a vibecheck requires sending a shopper's pose photo and the relevant product image to a third-party AI image-generation provider. This data is sent solely to produce the resulting image and is not used by Vibecheck or, per our agreements with these providers, used to train their models.

Uploaded images are also sent to a third-party AI provider for safety checks, and to our own image-analysis service for the technical measurements described above. We rely on the following categories of processor: AI image generation and safety review, cloud storage and image delivery, email delivery, and error monitoring. Some of these operate outside the country you are in; where that involves a transfer out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the safeguards required by applicable law. A current list of processors is available on request.

To catch generation errors and moderate inappropriate content, a sample of uploaded poses, product images, and generated vibechecks may be reviewed internally by our team.

Shoppers choose the visibility of each vibecheck they create. Private vibechecks are never shown to anyone else — not on a storefront, not on your profile, and not in the browse view described below.

A vibecheck you make public can appear in three places: on the storefront of the store whose product it features, on your own Vibecheck profile, and in the browse view inside Vibecheck, where shoppers discover looks across stores rather than only the store they came from. Making a vibecheck private again removes it from all of them.

Merchants choose whether their products appear in the browse view, and can turn that off at any time. Doing so does not remove or hide vibechecks shoppers have already created — that content belongs to the shopper who made it.

We use essential cookies to keep merchants and shoppers signed in and to complete the Shopify OAuth connection. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep your photos for as long as they are being used, and no longer. Vibechecks you have published stay up until you remove them or delete your account — you published them and a store paid to create them, so they continue to serve their purpose. Vibechecks you never published, and poses you have not used to create anything, are deleted after 24 months. We email you first, and you have 30 days to keep them by generating a vibecheck from the pose, or publishing the vibecheck — signing in alone does not stop the deletion. The full analysis produced when you upload an image is discarded after 30 days; the smaller set of measurements described in section 1 that we keep alongside the image for as long as it exists are not part of that — see section 1 for what those are and why we keep them.

Store data is retained for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling erases your store's Shopify credentials. Records of transactions and billing are kept longer where we are required to keep them.

Shoppers can download a copy of their data, or delete their account, from the account section of the app — no request needed. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your poses, the vibechecks you made and the photos behind them. Stores keep anonymous records of purchases already made, which no longer point back to you. Merchants can delete their store data from the dashboard. Either party can also contact us. Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) are supported.

Vibecheck is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 16. Creating an account requires confirming that you meet this minimum age. Uploaded content that appears to depict a child will be rejected or removed.

If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
